The Voorhees Animal Orphanage will present the 20th Annual Woofstock Festival on Saturday, September 24th, at John Connolly Park in Voorhees, NJ, held from 11am to 4pm. The rain date for the event is set for Saturday, October 8th.
The Voorhees Animal Orphanage (VAO) was founded in 1988 and has been serving 15 towns in Camden County since! They are the community shelter, providing services for cats and dogs throughout the county, as well as adoption services for the entire region. All animals under their care receive food, shelter, and medical care, as well as spay/neuter and a microchip prior to adoption. More than half of their revenue necessary for operations is provided by a vast, strong community of donors and supporters. An equally robust and cheerful community of hard-working volunteers support their experienced staff members, providing care for all animals that come through their doors.
Last year’s Woofstock Festival broke record after record with an incredible line-up of vendors, food trucks, musical acts, and special guests, and was an overall successful day filled with fun, food, and music, as well as celebrating pets, owners, and community.
This year, the VAO is anticipating a bigger, better festival in honor of their 20th anniversary of the event!
With musical performances by Joseph A. Ferko, a string band that has been entertaining audiences world-wide since 1992, and the Sara James Music Foundation, which was created to provide professional music lessons to inspire and educate children who can not afford music lessons; as well as Special Guests Joseph Poon - Master Chef, and Dr. Elizabeth Severino - Animal Communicator. This Festival will also contain multiple vendors such as, Petvalu, Philly Pretzel Factory, Mister Softee, Lakeside Pet Resort, and many, many more. And that’s not even it!! There will also be a food court available, as well as a K-9 Demonstration, Basket Raffles, Alumni Parade, and $25 microchipping provided by County Line Veterinary Hospital. This event is free of charge as well as a perfect bonding opportunity for you and your furry friends to mingle and meet new people (and furry friends) as well as learn, or even look into adoption, all while having a great time!
