By Alexis Bradley
On Friday, June 17th, 2016, Kevin Oakley and Pete August will be hosting a benefit show for the Montclair Animal Shelter, which recently suffered from a devastating fire, resulting in tragic financial loss. This benefit show will be held at The Meatlocker located at 8 Park Street in Montclair, NJ at 8pm with a $20 donation fee at the door. All proceeds made at this show will directly go to the Montclair Animal Shelter.
The Montclair Animal Shelter is a no kill shelter located on North Willow Street in Montclair, New Jersey. The shelter recently had to temporarily shut it’s doors because of the severe damage the building sustained from a fire that occurred April 3rd, 2016. Luckily, due to the efforts of their staff, volunteers, and neighbors all 30 dogs and 41 cats have been safely moved from the shelter and are currently fostered with local shelters and volunteers. Shelters from throughout the state offered their assistance for Montclair’s now truly homeless pets. Local businesses opened their hearts and doors to help out the Montclair Animal Shelter in their time of need.
There will be many different giveaways and raffles at this event that are sure to appeal to everyone! These raffles and giveaways will be provided by Jinx Proof Tattoo and Piercing, Gumdrop Hair Studio, Villalobos Mexican Restaurant, and Mosh for Paws, with more to be announced!
The lineup for this show includes:
Suburban Scum
A hardcore band from New Jersey, who recently returned from a short hiatus and is soon releasing their new LP Ultimate Annihilation.
The Banner
A hardcore / punk band from Bloomfield, NJ
SWAMPS
A hardcore band from Springfield, Massachusetts who just released their new single, “Blood Loss”
Dutchguts
